Science Project for School Exhibition

Science Project for School Exhibition

If you want a Science Project for School Exhibition which can be a working model for the students under Class 10, this Science Project might be a one of the good option for the present society and environment. Main moto of the project to save Water / Conservation of Water. The Project name is ‘Jal Swaraj

The purpose of Jal swaraj is mainly to save water and to overcome the demand for energy. Conserving water is important because it keeps water pure and clean while protecting the environment. Conserving water means using our water supply wisely and be responsible. As every individual depends on water for livelihood, we must learn how to keep our limited supply of water pure and away from pollution.

we got interested in this kind of project by seeing the people who are facing problems without water and also by seeing the problems of people in Chennai in this year. So many people got affected due to lack of water so we decided to do something about this, therefore, we decided to do this Jal swaraj project.

We came up with a solution that to implement this Jal swaraj.

We observed that in olden days only 1 or 2 houses were constructed in 1000 sq ft (approx) nad their water consumption is very less. But nowadays due to scarcity and an increase in the cost of land. We are constructing multi-storied buildings in the same place of 1000 sq ft where more than 30 families live there. So, the water consumption of water per day was increased a lot.

If we continue to use the same amount of water without conserving, reusing and recycling the water we may face many problems. We may face drastic consequences leading to scarcity of water, reduce in food supply and health hazards making our lives miserable.

In this large multi-storied are using plenty of groundwater.

We are using but we do not care about recycling or reusing the same water.

So, we have constructed a model JAL SWARAJ completely meant to conserve, reuse and recycle the wastewater, which is used in apartments.

For example, in a 15 storied building we collect all the wastewater used in 5-15 floors at 5th floor in a tank and we send the wastewater to the 4th floor through a pipeline in which filters are arranged at different places so that the water is semi- filtered. Then the semi filtered water is stored in a tank at the 4th floor. With the help of this, we water we allow to flow from a height. It will have enough kinetic energy to rotate a turbine and generate electricity, which can be used for common lighting and gardening purposes. Then the semi filtered water which is used to rotate the turbine is sent to a treatment plant at the ground floor which helps the semi filtered water to have proper ph before releasing it to underground using soak pit which helps to recharge groundwater level.

?

And also we are going to place rainwater harvesting on the top floor. When it rains through the pipeline we send that water directly to the treatment plant .if there is an excess of flow of water, we allow that excess water to the drainage.

We conclude that with the help of this swaraj we use, conserve, reuse and recycle the water.

We are suggesting everyone and govt to give building plans to the apartments which have recycling plants like JAL SWARAJ.

JAL SWARAJ

 I .   Introduction:-

 (i)  The purpose behind the development or construction of

jal swaraj is to conserve, reuse and recycle the waste water released form an multi storied building and also to recharge the ground water level .we are brink of a major water and energy crises.weneed to act before its too late.

(ii)   The   principle of turbine used to generate electricity is that the potential energy of the water stored at great heights in the dam is converted in to kinetic energy by allowing the water to flow at high speed. Then the kinetic energy of flowing water used to generate electricity.

II.    Description;-

(i)    materials used for construction :

  • playwood
  • used rubber tubes
  • plastic tubs
  • turbine
  • dc motor
  • wires
  • light
  • water dispenser
  • screws and bolts
  • used flexible pipes
  • glue
  • pvc pipes

(ii) construction and working:

working of ‘Jal Swaraj’:-

  • we have taken apartment of 15 floors for example.
  • We have taken the 5th floor as the storage for the waste water coming from the 5 -15 floors.
  • The collected waste water was sent to a tank at the 4th floor through the pipe line in which filters are arranged.
  • So that the water is semi filtered .the semi filtered water is stored in a tank at 4th floor. with this semi filtered water ,this semi filtered water was allowed to fall a turbine from a height where the water will have enough kinetic energy to rotate the turbine to generate electricity at ground floor . The turbine is rotated by the force of water producing dc current .greater the force of water, greater will be the output voltage.
  • Rate of flow of water: the cross sectional area of the water pipe and height of the water level will decide the rate of flow. The generated electricity can be used as common lighting and gardening purposes.
  • Later the semi filtered water which is used to generate electricity was sent to treatment plant at ground floor through pipeline at which  the heavy metals can be divided and also by using many methods we can purift the semi filtered water
  • After treating the semi filtered water we can send the water to the soak pit to recharge the ground water level.
  • On the top of the apartment arrangment of rain water harvesting by sending the rain water directly to the treatment plant and then to soakpit .
  • If there is an  excess flow of water we can directly allow the excess water to the drainages .
  • This must be done on a large scale, such that in the future each and every multi storied building has such a system in place so that all water comes out of the ground, goes back again.
